Pharmacy technicians have better career growth opportunities if they’ve finished a training program from an accredited training school, may it be campus-based or an online school. A certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, a nationally recognized certifying organization, goes a long way, too. Just to give some figures, a pharmacy technician armed with his high school diploma only receives $8.89 to $12/38 an hour, while the pharmacy technician salary of those with formal training is $9.69 to $14.31 per hour. Now compare that pharmacy technician salary with those who are certified pharmacy technicians and you’ll see that certified technicians receive higher salary, at $10.02 to $15.26 an hour.
