For pharmacy technicians that these pharmacists employ, their pharmacy technician certification is their proof of their competence.The work of a pharmacist has evolved through time, that whereas before, they just dispense and fill prescriptions, now they are more involved directly in patient care. Pharmacists are relying on certified pharmacy technicians more and more for support because each year, there is a growing number of patients that these pharmacists need to serve competently. Since the tasks of pharmacists have become more complex, a pharmacy technician’s tasks also became complex. Hence, pharmacists prefer to hire those that have obtained their Pharmacy Technician Certification. It’s all worth it though for certified pharmacy technicians because they’ll be given better opportunities for career advancement and higher salaries.
