Privacy is usually the main concern of someone beginning to shop for blinds and shades, and today’s shades offer quite a variety of privacy levels. Sheer shades, such as balloon shades made of lace, provide minimal privacy but maximum light. Mini-blinds, in contrast, provide a much different look and can be both opened or raised to allow you to adjust privacy and light levels throughout the day. Media rooms are well served with the maximum level of privacy, which is provided by blackout blinds or shades. Blackout can either be accomplished with cellular shades with a special backing, or fabric shades that have an added blackout liner.
