How can I make my surround sound system work with the TV on?
When I use the dvd player that is also a surround sound system, all sound from the dvd comes out of the surround sound speakers and subwoofer.
Trouble is, when I watch tv on it’s own ( not a dvd ), the sound comes only out of the tv’s speakers.
Is there anyway I can watch tv with the surround sound speakers on ? Also, can I run my tv through a stereo having stereo playing for my tv channels?
Connect optical or composite cables ( red & white ) output from cable box or TV to system input.

This is easier than everyone makes it seem. The cable cord that comes out of your wall plug that into your surround sound DVD player, then hook up the red yellow and white from your surround sound to your TV. I think its the input on the surround sound end and the output on your TV. You’ll have to see which set works, I tried all of them and finally it worked. Then with your TV remote hit tv/video button or input and it should work. If not your setup is different then mine. I have a old philips surround and a sony wega TV, no fancy hdmi or hdtv.
